Tips on How to Prevent Cancer

The number of cancer cases in United States is growing. That is why it is important to know how we can prevent this dreadful ailment. Did you know that even small changes in your everyday routine or lifestyle can alleviate the risk of getting this disease? Let me propose to you some tips on how you will be able to prevent getting cancer.

1. Avoid too much exposure from the sun. The most common type of cancer is the skin cancer. The most common cause of skin cancer is the sun so protect your self from too much sun exposure. The peak radiation hours are between 10 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon. So avoid being outside during these hours. Exposed parts of the body are the ears, hands and the face. Cover those areas because skin cancer usually occurs on those parts. Apply sunscreen to your skin and stay indoors for at least 20 minutes. Wear light colored clothes. Dark colors are more absorber of the heat. To cover your head and ears, wearing a hat is advisable.

2. Don't smoke. If you are a person who does not smoke, being a secondhand smoker is also bad for your health.

3. Exercise regularly. Being fat is not healthy. Get at least of 30 minute exercise at least 2 times a week.

4. Eat healthy food. Avoid drinking too much alcohol and having high-fat diet. Eat fruits and vegetables.

Many of the cancer patients these days are in need of help for their regular medications. There are nonprofit organizations that conduct seminars to educate people on how to prevent cancer. They also make research to study the possible cure for this disease. You too can help this cause by making a donation. One of the well known types of donation is the car donation. If you happen to have an old car, you can donate it to help charities that support this cause.
